You’ll explore Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the most famous and most extensive of the Côtes du Rhône vineyards, with its tannic red wines, fruity and full-bodied, as well as their small production of white wines. Extending over more than 3,300 hectares, it is worked by 55 wineries and nearly 300 wine growers.  The vines were originally planted by the Popes in the Middle Ages, and have been famous ever since the 18th century. Châteauneuf du Pape became the first officially recognised ‘appellation d’origine contrôlée’ of the Côtes du Rhône in 1936.

You’ll be invited to take guided tours with commentary (explanations about “terroir”, the different grape varieties, winemaking…) of cellars of two great wine estates. You’ll have the opportunity to find out more and taste the wines and vintages of Châteauneuf du Pape in a privately reserved room.

To end this private wine tour, you’ll pass through the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape to visit the hill-top castle, and admire the fabulous views over the vineyards, the Rhône Valley, Avignon and its Papal City, the Alpilles, the Luberon, the Mont Ventoux…
