Let’s set off on the wine route to discover the most famous vineyards of the Côtes
du Rhône. You’ll be able to visit the wine cellars and chais of well-
First, you’ll discover the magnificent village of Séguret, nestled on a rocky peak
and listed as one of the “most beautiful villages of France”. As you meander through
its cobbled streets you will be able to feel its diverse and rich history. The Domaine
de Mourchon, in an exceptional setting, near the village, will warmly welcome you
to taste its best vintages. The owners will gladly recount the secrets of their wine
growing and a tour of the cellar, the vinification chais and ageing barrels, as well

At the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail, you’ll discover the vineyards of Beaumes
de Venise whose red wines have achieved Côtes du Rhône distinction. However, Beaumes
de Venise, is above all famous for its Muscat, gold in a bottle. It is famous throughout
the world, and has earned a reputation as one of the best. You’ll be able to taste

Finally, to end this “wine tasting” excursion, we‘ll make our way towards Châteauneuf
du Pape where you will discover the most prestigious vineyards in the Côtes du Rhône.
The vines were originally planted by the Popes in the Middle Ages, and have been
famous ever since the 18th century. Châteauneuf du Pape became the first officially
recognised ‘appellation d’origine contrôlée’ of the Côtes du Rhône in 1936. It extends
over more than 3,300 hectares and is worked by more than 55 private estates and 300
wine growers. You’ll be invited to take a guided tour of one famous wine estate to
understand the winemaking process and use of oak casks and barrels. You’ll have the
opportunity to find out more and taste the wines and vintages of Châteauneuf du Pape
